The Lagorai
A few kilometres from Levico Terme, the Panarotta and the Group of Lagorai bring us back to the quiet atmosphere of a time when stress and frenzy were terms still unknow.
Here one finds the taste of an ancient world when the "canopi", miners from Germany called by The Prince Bishop of Trento, worked in the mines of fluorspar, silver and quartz.
The Valsugana with Panarotta and the nearby Valley of Mocheni are the starting point for numerous routes Lagorai ski mountaineering in the discovery of a world where it is not yet reached mass tourism and where reigning sovereign quiet, natural beauty and unspoiled environment. In warmer seasons this mountain offers to every walker many good opportunities for walking, hiking and trekking.
The Plateau of Vezzena
Pass Vezzena is located at 1,417 m. altitude. Here opens in all its glory the plateau dottled with typical alpine huts, buildings for the housing of livestock to mountain pasture and for the dairy business. It produced cheese, such as the "vezzena" precisely known for its distinctive flavour. During World War I the entire area, which includes the highlands of Folgaria, and Lavarone Luserna, was the scene of clashes and battles as evidenced by the many Austrians Forts that can still be visited. In winter the plateau of Vezzena offers to enthusiasts of cross-country skiing, tens of kilimotres of traks in a fascinating and uncontaminated nature, affiliated to the Cross-country Centre Millegrobbe. For those who prefer alpine skiing are available nearby plants of Malga Rivetta (m. 1350).
